Extensive youth sports programs and outdoor recreation are a big draw for resident families. Memorial Park Recreation Center houses an indoor gymnasium, lighted softball/baseball fields, a football field, lighted tennis courts, a handball wall, lighted outdoor basketball courts, horse shoes, picnic shelters, BBQ pits and playgrounds. City Park joins the City Hall Complex, library and Historical Society Museum. Other city parks house an aquatics center and a Frisbee golf course.

Neighborhood schools, safe streets and a sense of hometown pride are other reasons why more sales of existing homes have soared recently as more families seek to call Azusa home. And with volunteers having planted 2,000 trees in the Year 2,000, Azusa is becoming a greener and cooler community as well.

Community groups and activities are an important part of the fabric of life. The annual Golden Days is a weeklong festival culminating in a community parade and carnival. There are year-round festivities for families like the Cinco de Mayo Festival, Fourth of July Parade, Halloween Haunted House and Christmas Tree Light Up.
